Since 1978, Arlington Charities has endeavored to feed the hungry and clothe the poor. Volunteers to sort and hang donated clothing are always needed, and you can work at your convenience. Pantry helpers receive training on how to pack groceries for different size families. The agency is open Monday - Friday, 9 AM to Noon. Call Darlene, Volunteer Coordinator, at 817-275-1511, for additional information. Audrey Koepp is the New World contact person.
For a number of years, New World has cooked and served the evening meal at the Life Shelter on 5th Sundays and 5th Wednesdays of the month. This year, we have added 5th Fridays to our service schedule. In addition, we serve breakfast the next morning and provide sack lunches for the clients to take with them.
Service dates for the remainder of 2010 are September 29, October 29 and 31, and December 29 and 31. If you are interested in more information about this ministry or volunteering, please contact Bill Dugan at nydu@tx.rr.com or Mission Chair Alison Chapman alisonchapman@sbcglobal.net.
