United Methodists believe that a wedding is a happy and joyous occasion, but that its social importance is only incidental to its spiritual significance. The wedding service is, in fact, a service of worship in which vows are made, prayers are offered, and a blessing is given. The wedding ceremony itself is one of great beauty and tested meaning.
New World has a few general policies and requirements that have been approved by the Administrative Board of our church. To insure that every bride and groom has the best experience possible, a representative of the church will serve as the couple's wedding coordinator. The coordinator will schedule the date, act as the contact person for caterers and florists, and direct the rehearsal and wedding so that no detail may be overlooked in making each couple's wedding one of the happiest and holiest moments of their lives.
